Lesley Wamsley is an artist living and working in New York City. In 2012, she earned a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her work has been in national and international exhibitions including the Endless Biennial, New York City, NY and Graphics Biennial in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Recent residencies include The Wassaic Project, Wassaic, NY and Endless Editions, New York City, NY. Her work is held by the Museum of Modern Art Artists’ Book Collection, New York City, NY. She is a professor in the Foundation Department at the State University of New York at New Paltz. In 2015, she was the recipient of a Merit Award for excellence in teaching.
This series of drawings is titled Likable. Created during the historic and volatile 2016 Presidential Election, the imagery speaks to a particular aspect of female worth: likability.
