Artist Gideon Appah, obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2012 from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He works with mixed media and salvaged objects. His work is greatly influenced by imagery and marks of temporary structures, informal signage and a general deterioration of parts of Accra’s urban landscape. There are also references to the cultural duality that exists in relation to sexuality and pop culture. Appah was the winner of the First Merit Award by Barclays L’Atelier 2015. He has participated in a number of exhibitions in Ghana and South Africa.
