Geoffrey Stein is a recovering lawyer, who has been painting full-time since 2000. He received an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2007. Stein lives and paints in New York City. He is represented by the Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge, NY and the Minster Gallery in the UK.
About Stop Trump from Stein: “I dealt with the run up to the Inauguration by making protest art. My piece “Stop” tried to utilize an every day object, a stop sign, and thrown ink/acrylic to express my hope that Trump could be stopped. This was a rift on the “Stop the War” stickers put on stops signs in the 1960s and 70s, and an homage to the paint handling of Francis Bacon.” The piece featured here is a digital print on poster paper of Stein’s original work.
