Two of Hauck’s paintings featured here are not directly political. The subjects are not what he originally set out to capture, which happens often when Hauck makes artwork. He intends one thing and something very different reveals itself or forces its way through. What he thought he was doing and what actually happens is completely separate. In this painting, the subject matter was not what he thought it was. The rug covered his intention.
